about the film
Kenneth Anderlitch is a resilient San Antonio native who has faced more than his share of adversity. When he was 19, he lost his mother to a drug overdose. A tragedy that cast a long shadow over his life. Ken battled with drug and alcohol abuse for years following this devastating loss, struggling to find his footing in a world that often felt unforgiving.
In 2016, Ken's life took a dramatic turn when he entered into long-term recovery with the help of a few caring strangers. He is now eight years sober and bringing hope to those struggling with addiction.
In "The Long Road Home," produced by Long Road Home Productions and White Cloud Media Group, Ken runs over 1,800 miles from Washington D.C. to his hometown of San Antonio, Texas, with one goal: to raise awareness and funding for "Families in Recovery," the first program of its kind to offer residential treatment where families can stay together while parents work toward long-term recovery.
Along his route, Ken meets with fellow survivors and we hear powerful stories from parents who faced the challenges of addiction and the pain of being separated from their children during treatment.
